The name given to the Sol de Janeiro’s product “brazilian bum bum cream” perpetuates the stereotype brazilian women are fighting against for too long. It threats the bodies of women from brazil as objects and legitimate sexual harassment against them, something that’s recurrent abroad.

Once again, a “brazilian butt” is not a cultural, comercial or touristic good, but a mysoginistic and racist fettish that dehumanizes brazilian women. So please, Sol de Janeiro, if you value Brazil as much as you say you do, be decent and change the name of the product.
