The Issue

REGISTER OUR OPPOSITION TO THE SOCOTECO II–IGNITE POWER JOINT VENTURE

We are Member-Consumer-Owners (MCOs) of SOCOTECO II from General Santos City, Polomolok, Tupi, and the municipalities of Sarangani Province.

SOCOTECO II is more than our electricity provider. It is our cooperative. It was built through generations of member-consumers, and its future should not be decided without the meaningful participation of the people who own it.

Through this petition, we are putting our opposition to the proposed Joint Venture Agreement with IGNITE Power on record.
We want SOCOTECO II, government authorities, regulators, our communities, and the public to know that many MCOs do not agree with this direction and want their voices to be heard.

This online petition is intended to document and register our opposition, connect concerned MCOs, and allow us to organize quickly should a formal grassroots signature campaign or other lawful member action become necessary.

This Change.org petition is not being represented as a substitute for any formal petition or member action required under the SOCOTECO II Constitution and By-Laws, NEA rules, or other applicable laws and regulations. Should formal action be undertaken, the required signatures, verification, documentation, and procedures will be separately complied with.

SOCOTECO II may have problems that need to be addressed. But it is still our cooperative, and we believe its members must have a genuine voice in determining its future..

SOCOTECO II is our cooperative. Its future should not be decided without us.

If you oppose the proposed SOCOTECO II–IGNITE Power Joint Venture, sign this petition and let your opposition be counted, recorded, and heard.
