Federal Government reaffirms position

Unfortunately the Federal Government has reaffirmed it's position that foster and kinship parents are ineligible to access Paid Parental Leave. Although the Federal Government has decided not to change the eligibilty at this time, there may be a possible opening to raise this issue again at the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) meeting later this year. While a little disappointed with this outcome, I will continue having this conversation with local and Federal Memebers of parliment. With your support, sharing and talking about this issue, we may get the change required to support vulnerable children at the most critical time of their development. Thank you once again!!
