Meeting Tomorrow!

Hi there! We've topped 1,000 and SOAS have agreed to meet with the guys from K&P - that's a huge achievement given I expected maybe 100 or so people and for SOAS to brush off our concerns... In order to give them the maximum impact I'd like to ask all the SOAS students and alumni who've signed this to email something showing their support to those involved in the decision making - now this can be your own wording or I've drafted a PDF with some help from supporters which is hosted here http://docdro.id/p3AK8Hz. In terms of who to email - rs109@soas.ac.uk - Rychard Scrase-Field - Assistant Director of Estates and Facilities sc100@soas.ac.uk- Siobhan Canavan - Client Relationship Manager director@soas.ac.uk - Baroness Amos - Director of SOAS It's important to remember that SOAS and SOAS SU should be thinking about the students and their views as a matter of priority, as we pay the fees (with regards to SOAS itself) and form the student body/electorate (with regards to the SU). The current response from the SU (on their website) is pretty weak and fails to recognise that that the SU are there to represent the students - not to fulfil some personal political crusade. In addition to this they seem to be quite happy to forget that their own survey showed K&P was the most popular outlet in the Senate House part of SOAS. Given the response so far I hope they'll listen to the views and support expressed here - and by sending an email you make that all the more likely to happen!
