How many cycling deaths by motorists are too many?  One? 29? How bike friendly are the streets of San Antonio? For those of us who ride we know the look in our signif's eyes when we venture out on our bikes and they say, "be careful" as is if we were being deployed to a war zone. Right now, our City has the opportunity to be a "Smart City" not only in technology innovation, but in the way we design more "complete streets" that provide safe options for cyclist and pedestrians, not just motor vehicles. There is 2017 Municipal Bond money set aside for The Broadway Corridor project from Hildebrand St / University of the Incarnate Word all the way down to Houston Street downtown, the epicenter of the Tech District, for bike lanes.  Our Mayor Ron Nirenberg has stepped up and committed to help get protected bike lanes built as an integral part of this project and we need you to sign this petition so the rest of City Council knows how much multi-modal transportation options and safety matter to our community.
