Local Slidell residents and abroad we need your help for our community, we don’t have a pediatric department at any of our Slidell Hospitals anymore due to the boards choices.

If your child gets sick and has an emergency they are treated at the nearest emergency room but then if issues persist must be transported by ambulance or helicopter to New Orleans or Covington which are the nearest pediatric units.

Which if your child must stay at one of those facilities you will need to travel to and from to visit your babies which put a strain on everyone financially with gas prices soaring, stress from the time consumed by commuting to and from the hospital which obviously can limit the amount of time you get to spend with your then sick child.

Now if we have a pediatric unit at our local Slidell hospitals and it’s not such a issue where your child has no choice but be transported to a different hospital and the local hospital can care for your child’s illness wouldn’t that make things ten times less stressful on your entire family during a already very stressful time in your life’s?

So join the local mommas and papas and raise your voices and speak out, sign the petition spread it far and wide make a change for your community help our local doctors and nurses voices be heard!
