SLEA Referendum on Job Action in Response to HB267

SLEA Referendum on Job Action in Response to HB267
The Issue
Our union is facing a critical threat. HB267 passed in the Senate, which means it will be law unless Governor Cox vetoes it. This bill means that we will no longer be allowed to collectively bargain and our SLEA members will no longer be able to use schools or classrooms to meet (without paying a fee). Without a union to represent us, salaries and work conditions will decline and teachers’ voices will be silenced.
SLEA bylaws allow us to call for a referendum vote with a petition signed by 15% of active members. We need your help to reach that 15% so that we can vote, as a body, on our next steps. This may well be our LAST change to call for change as a union. The time for action is now.
By signing below, you are calling for a referendum vote by SLEA members on job action in response to HB267 and are a currently active SLEA member.
