Illegal infants of long tailed macaques were on sale openly at Satria Wildlife Market in Bali. These infants were chained around their necks without access to drinking water 24/7. It is a form of cruelty to animals

These animals are illegal because they were captured in the forest without permits from the Wildlife Authority (BKSDA). Also, these animals were brought to this market without transport permits (SATS-DN) from the BKSDA office. Since last year, Scorpion urged government to close down illegal wildlife markets.

Scorpion team of investigators visited this market and took this video on Saturday 28 January 2017. In addition macaques, many species of wildlife that are sold at the Satria market in Bali, such as civet, birds etc.

Kera ekor panjang dengan leher dirantai dijual secara terbuka di Pasar Satwa Liar Satria, Bali. Ini adalah ilegal karena penangkapan di hutan dilakukan tanpa izin. Pengangkutan satwa liar ke pasar satwa juga dilakukan tanpa kelengkapan surat angkut tumbuhan dan satwa dalam negeri (SATS-DN) dari BKSDA.

Sejak tahun lalu, Scorpion telah menyuarakan pentingnya menutup pasar satwa liar di Indonesia.

Video ini diambil pada Sabtu, 28 Januari 2017 saat tim investigator Scorpion berkunjung ke pasar satwa Satria.
