Hello Samsung Lemon7 Owners, Since my last contact we have increased to 320 signatures. While a big improvement, that sort of number will be of no concern to Samsung Singapore. Unfortunately, we don't have much time to effect a change. Personally, I have returned my device and should receive a full refund in the next few days, so I don't actually need to remain involved but do so because of the unfairness of this situation. But I need your help. If you really do want to see Samsung Singapore change their policies we need to present a united front. I would urge you all to revisit the Samsung Mobile Singapore Facebook page and post regularly and often. The more people that get involved the more unified we are seen to be as as a group. If there are only a few people posting it will mean little. (And if a Samsung supporter posts something on that FaceBook page asking you to stop being argumentative, spamming the page, or whatever, please don't buy into or reply their argument. The best response is none at all. ) I have changed who the petition is to be sent to: S. Iswaran, Singapore's Minister for Industry. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S._Iswaran & I have added this to the petition at the end of the petition: ------------------- As Samsung Singapore is doing no more than the bare minimum for it's customers, the people who sign this petition humbly request that Singapore's Minister for Industry S. Iswaran intervene in on their behalf and strongly request that Samsung Singapore show it's customers the same respect as is occurring everywhere else in the world. ------------------- I would also suggest that you find who you local member is and contact them directly with your concerns. By following the link below you will find their contact details, including email. https://www.parliament.gov.sg/whos-my-mp and https://www.gov.sg/sgdi/organs-of-state/parl Please be very respectful and send them an email something like this.... (C&P and add specific details (WHERE CAPS ARE) required if it suits). If you have additional issues, such as you are out of the country during the short swap time please add that in. ------ Dear (YOUR MEMBERS NAME), I would like to bring to your attention the handling of the Samsung Note7 recall. Samsung Singapore is treating its customers poorly when compared to the options that people elsewhere are getting. There are many unhappy people on the Samsung Mobile Singapore Facebook page ) asking Samsung Singapore for better treatment -- which is being ignored -- and there has been a petition started with change.org ( http://goo.gl/ybBDCc ) It is an awful experience trying to organise the swap online and while many people are satisfied with a 1-for-1 swap for a safe device, there are also many who no longer have faith in the Note7. They would like to be given the same options as customers in Australia, New Zealand and the United States, that is, they would like to be able to swap for another Samsung device (with refund for device and accessories) or receive a full refund and either re-purchase later, or move to another device altogether. As you may be aware, the Note7 is banned from being used in any way on many airlines. The FAA has not yet been decided whether it will be completely barred from being taken on board any aircraft, but it is a possibility. This possibility is a major factor in the decision in requesting a refund. I would respectfully request that you intercede on my behalf and contact Samsung Singapore and urge them to give Singapore customers the same respect as is being shown elsewhere. Thank you for your time. Yours Sincerely (YOUR NAME) -------- If we as a group can mobilise over the next 18 hours... ~To swamp the Samsung Mobile Singapore Facebook page and get as many new signatures as possible. Don't forget to include the link: http://goo.gl/ybBDCc ~To contact your local representatives. ...we may see a change of heart of Samsung, but if we do nothing, I can guarantee that's what will happen. best, David Dixon PS Please help, don't sit back and think others will do it all.
