Hi Neighbours,
I know many of you were disappointed to see that instead of planters, the council has installed lightweight barriers.
I emailed Simon Brown (local councillor) about this earlier in the day and I've just had the following response:
"There has been a delay by the suppliers in delivering the planters, they should be in place in the next 7-14 days".
I also flagged up to him that some of the barriers had been moved by drivers, and he said:
"I will alert the [traffic] officers to this behaviour and ask that it be regularly monitored until we get the planters, although with pressures of work at the moment due to Covid this may not be as regularly as I like".
Therefore I'd suggest if you see a barrier moved, please just drop Simon an email so he can get it sorted.
In addition, I have reported the locations of the planters on Google Maps. If you turn on 'traffic' on your phone and zoom in on the barrier locations there should be an exclamation mark in a circle that you can click on, and confirm that the road is closed (to vehicles at least) in that location.
Google Maps have now updated West Harrow so my hope is if we all report this ASAP over the weekend they will be a bit faster with Headstone South, and the sooner the through traffic will start avoiding the area.
Thanks very much for your patience, I know the traffic out there was very bad today, but this was not unexpected and I do hope that today was the worst of it and it will now improve over the next couple of weeks.
