Bee-utify Bascom!

Bee-utify Bascom!
The Issue
Created in the fall of 2022, the Bee-utify Bascom project aims at improving the biodiversity of Bascom Hill by planting native pollinator plots to provide diverse habitats for pollinators. The Office of Sustainability has approved a new location for three sites outside of the Education Building overlooking lake Mendota. The native plant plugs are set to be planted during early fall of 2024, and will require frequent watering during the first few months.
The native gardens will also feature signs highlighting information on specific native plants and their cultural significance to Indigenous groups.
By signing this petition, you are showing your support for increasing biodiversity across our campus and increasing awareness of the cultural significance of selected native plants. The project is starting with just these three sites, however continuous support will encourage similar changes to be made across other parts of campus.
