To the Government of Canada and Concerned Citizens Around the World,
We, the undersigned, call upon the Canadian government to take immediate action to secure the release and repatriation of Jasmine Mooney, a Canadian citizen who has been unjustly detained in inhumane conditions by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) since March 3, 2025.
Jasmine has committed no crime. She was detained at the San Ysidro border over an incomplete work visa application—a bureaucratic issue that should have resulted in simple denial of entry, not incarceration. Instead, she has been subjected to inhumane treatment, including being shackled in chains, transferred between facilities in the dead of night, and held in overcrowded, unsanitary conditions with no natural light, no proper bedding, and little access to basic necessities.
Jasmine’s family and friends are desperate for answers. She has not been given due process, nor has she been allowed proper communication with her loved ones. The Canadian government must do everything in its power to ensure her safe return home and demand accountability for the unacceptable treatment of a Canadian citizen.
This is not just about Jasmine—it’s about ensuring that no Canadian is ever treated this way again. We urge all Canadians and people of conscience around the world to stand with Jasmine, sign this petition, and demand that the Government of Canada act now to bring her home.
