Imagine a world without giraffes, monarch butterflies or sea turtles. 

Without swift action, this grim vision could become a reality. A recent study estimated that 37% of all species may go extinct by century's end. That means for every three species alive today, one could vanish forever by 2100.  

We've reached a critical moment in the fight to stop extinction — but there's still time to make a difference.  

We need to let world leaders know that we support bold action to save life on Earth. Nothing less will #StopExtinction, and all species are depending on us.

We've never experienced an extinction crisis like this one, with more than a million species on track to go extinct in the coming decades.  The consequences of this loss are dire.

We're undermining our planetary life-support systems, including food pollination, water purification, carbon sequestration and disease regulation. Across the world we're losing species that have inspired our histories, myths and cultures.  

The world's leading conservation scientists have called for transformative change, and UN Secretary-General Guterres has urged “bold action to end our suicidal war with nature.” That's why we need a global agreement to:  

• Halt human-caused species extinctions beginning now;
• Improve the conservation status of threatened species and sustain all other native species by 2030; and  
• Ensure full recovery of all species by 2050.

Globally, we must do everything in our power to accomplish these objectives, supported by financial backing and capacity sharing, so we can unite to save life on Earth.  

Make no mistake: The impending extinction of hundreds of thousands of species is a choice. By maintaining the status quo, you choose extinction. 

We need to choose to end extinction now — not by 2030 and not by 2050. Help make this the year when the world chooses to stop extinction and commits the resources to do so.

All life on Earth depends on it.
