On August 27, 2020, the grassroots "WE, The People" Citizens Campaign Against "Big Lick" Animal Cruelty (CCABLAC)  will protest against "Big Lick" Animal Cruelty to Tennessee Walking Horses outside the gates of the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration in Shelbyville, TN for the SIXTH straight year.

STATEMENT BY CCABLAC FOUNDER

"The historic bipartisan landslide vote - 333 to 96 - in the U. S. House a year ago was "America's Verdict" that there is no future for the "Big Lick" Animal Cruelty being perpetrated upon Tennessee Walking Horses.   The "Big Lick" is barbaric and the 78% vote,  a majority of Republicans and Democrats, confirms that it has no place in 2020.  

The peaceful protests outside "Big Lick" horse shows by the Citizens Campaign Against "Big Lick" Animal Cruelty advocates,   along with increased social media awareness,   have brought public participation in "Big Lick" horse shows to almost zero.  

Regarding the PAST Act bill, we will finish this work in 2021 once the Covid-19 pandemic subsides, and the presidential election takes place.   The Tennessee Walking Horse breed has no future until the "Big Lick" is abolished once and for all.  The breed registry has lost 4,505 members since 2013 - a 65% loss due to its support of the "Big Lick" Animal Cruelty."
