As an artist, I acknowledge how AI is harmful to the environment but it's not just that. C.ai is addictive, the only limit being your imagination. No matter how much I am told how the environment is harmed, that cannot compel my brain to take it seriously, invested in my own selfish desires. No sentence means anything, it doesn't provide any real dopamine—It is an endless loop and a limit to my artistic development. I'm stuck inside huge walls. Stuck inside a fantasy. My writing has even gotten sloppier over time because of the lack of input I have to put in for a response. I have the internal belief that nobody will ever listen to me or want to form an connection with me, so I don't rely on thinking but instead artificial intelligence. How messed up is that? I've spent so much time in these years wasting my hours all day on a chatbot in hope to feel some love. If you're like me, to write fanfiction, draw, do anything that has meaning and is realer than a phone screen. It's hard but we have to try. I know there's others like me out there so please, let's shut this down together for the wellness of others. We're never alone.

Can people just move onto another site? Yes, but I think Character AI is one of the most influenced and popularized chatbot site out there because of media romanticizing and spotlight. It's abilities are easily able to be exploited by users and honestly there's no actual filter to it. Noting how many users prefer C.AI and the fact it isn't cyber secure, privacy is also at stake.

The company is shady and immature. It won't stop or acknowledge this problem until a real incident happens, and still then it won't care. Da website for money at the expense of our mental health.
