Shut Down Rover or Force Major Reform: Protect Pets, Stop the Silence

The Issue

🚨 Why This Petition Exists:

  • Pets have died under Rover sitters' care, and Rover avoids accountability.
  • Sitters are banned or ghosted without due process, sometimes after false claims.
  • There’s no real appeal system for inaccurate or defamatory reviews.
  • Sitters cannot see client reviews or behavior history — putting our safety at risk.
  • Rover charges a 20% sitter fee plus extra client surcharges, but gives minimal support.
  • Feedback about clients is collected but hidden, making it useless.
  • Rover hides behind its airtight Terms of Service and ignores serious concerns.
  • This isn’t just a one-time story — there are countless others like mine.

🛑 What We're Demanding:

  1. Visible client feedback — let sitters see who they're working with.
  2. An actual dispute system for sitters to challenge harmful or false reviews.
  3. Fairer commission structures, especially for loyal and repeat users.
  4. Transparency around lawsuits, settlements, and safety incidents.
  5. Optional, affordable sitter insurance that actually covers real risks.
  6. An independent third party to oversee disputes and safety complaints.

Who This Petition Is For:

Sitters tired of being disposable.

Clients who’ve lost beloved pets or been left in the dark.

Anyone who believes pet safety and human dignity should come before corporate profits.
