Runway for over 3 years at festivals organised by Runway has been showcasing AI slop films with people submitting work created using their generative AI software and is partnered by multiple companies such as Capcut and NVIDIA. As an animation student in university, I find this to be appalling. This is not to be celebrated, it is extremely low effort and might lead to a lot of copyright issues as well. Generative AI slop is theft and always will be. It is a spit in a face to actual artists. I want the festival and the company organising it to be shut down permanently.
