A decision has been made to appeal this after it was revealed there is a conflict of interest within the justice system. He's got a close relative, Marie Claire Boothby, Attorney General. Surprise, surprise. One of his texts apparently read: ‘I have to hand myself in but I ain't getting jail time. I'm a Danby, we don't go to jail.'

We'll see about that.

It's still a long way to go, but if we keep the pressure on, this won't get swept under the carpet like so many other cases have done in this country in the past. This is not victory yet. And it is still absolutely devastating and sickening that we are still dealing with dehumanising comments and the dismissal of death and harm toward Aboriginal people by white decision makers in this country in 2025.
