“It's your fault you were born with that hair”, said the teacher of Shizengakuen high school to my ethnic brother who has special type of hair.

My brother was sent home from school 3 days in a row for having his hair in box braids because his teacher thought it was too ‘weird’ and ‘inappropriate’ for school environment.

The regulations of the school are filled with racial and gender discriminatory rules, such as ‘men must not grow their hair long’ and ‘women’s hair should be feminine’. Unfortunately, many Japanese schools have old-fashioned and unreasonable regulations. We must end this! We are living in 2019!!

Therefore, with your petition, I would like to ask Shizengakuen to change their outdated rules into modern and reasonable rules. It is NOT my brother’s "fault" for his type of hair.
