Tax Credits open group letter - South East Cornwall

Tax Credits open group letter - South East Cornwall
The Issue
Dear Sheryll Murray,
We are writing as your constituents to raise our concerns & our opposition regarding the Government's intention to cut tax credits, which you recently voted in favour of.
I will be directly affected by by these changes or know & care about someone who will be directly affected by changes to tax credits.
Almost three and half million families nationally will lose an average of £1,300 per year.
Locally this will have devastating impact on many low income working families and individuals.
The Government’s plan to increase the national minimum wage is welcomed but this will not compensate for the loss of tax credits. Wages as you know are far less in South East Cornwall than the average wage throughout the remainder of the UK.
One in four children in South East Cornwall are already living in relative poverty. While two thousand families locally were forced to rely on food banks last year alone.
Further cuts in their income will force working families to needlessly struggle further, having a detrimental impact on our local community. It is important we prevent this!
As your constituents we feel unsupported, unrepresented & betrayed by you as our MP in South east Cornwall, who chose to support your party's wants over & above the needs of your constituents on this policy.
A policy Prime Minister, David Cameron promised would not be implemented.
We, your constituents want you to support us, support local low income working families & our community. Do all you can to help put support networks in place. Do all you can to represent your constituents & stop changes to tax credits!
Yours Sincerely
All Signed
