PLEASE support us to stop dog fouling pollution on children's football pitches

The Issue

Dear football managers, coaches, parents & all the good people who volunteer their time and work with such dedication for grassroots football.

We are Ecclesall Rangers Junior Football Club who are based at Whirlow Playing Fields on Limb Lane, Dore. The Club has 500+ young players who use the pitches at Whirlow on a weekly basis. As the pitches are not secured and open to recreational use, the Club has a constant issue with prolific dog fouling. Many dog walkers (in particular dog walking businesses) have a very dangerous, disgusting and incredibly thoughtless habit of leaving dog mess behind. This is our chance to prevent this happening and to protect the health of our young players. Their safe-guarding and well-being is our absolute priority.

We need as many signatures as possible to persuade Sheffield City Council to take action and instigate control of this issue. Our target is 5,000. This would have a huge impact in determining and securing action.

We are receiving the support of The Project Officer at Sheffield City Council's Sport, Leisure and Health Team in our efforts to clean and protect the football pitches at Whirlow Playing Fields. This support is a major breakthrough for our Club which we are extremely grateful for.

Faithfully yours,

Martin Windle BEM, Chairman Ecclesall Rangers FC
