Petition updateAsk David McWilliams and Ian Thomas (RMBC officers) to tell the truth.Stand Up For Rotherham Petition – a senior RMBC officer now needs to tell the truth

Rotherham Truth Campaign
Jun 8, 2018
Please note this Stand Up For Rotherham petition asking a senior Rotherham Council officer to tell the truth to adult survivors of CSE in Rotherham:
This petition was launched on Wednesday 6 June and it is hoped to get 20 signatures from people who live, work or study in Rotherham to sign it by next Wednesday (13 June). So far 13 have signed it online.
Rotherham petitions do not allow officers to be named in a petition so the petition now reads as:
This petition calls on the senior Rotherham Council officer:
who was fully consulted about Voices of Despair Voices of Hope;
who ordered 1500 copies for Rotherham Council on 10 March 2015;
who joined the trip with victims, survivors and advocates to the Houses of Parliament and to Downing Street on 25 March 2015;
and who then sent a dreadful email on 15 September 2015:
to END HIS SILENCE and TELL THE TRUTH to adult survivors of Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) in Rotherham about what he knows about why officials at Rotherham Council decided to return 1400 copies of Voices of Despair Voices of Hope (at a cost of £5600 to Rotherham Council).
PS
The recent Rotherham Truth Campaign petition calling on the Chief Executive to act received more than 20 signatures from people who live, work or study in Rotherham has been submitted for the Council Meeting on 27 June. Elizabeth, an adult survivor of CSE, has agreed to speak to it
Thank you to those who signed the petition to the Leader of the Council – this petition will be kept back from formal submission to see what happens with this Stand Up For Rotherham petition.

There is information about the trip with victims, survivors and advocates to the Houses of Parliament and to Downing Street on 25 March 2015 here:

A very powerful radio broadcast of the journey on Wednesday 25 March 2015 was put together by Mushtaq Tufail. Mushtaq works for BBC Radio Sheffield and joined us on the journey, recording interviews with a wide range of people on the day, including the officer who the petition is for – it is still well worth listening to and can be found here:
