We call on Roger Stone former leader of Rotherham Council to either speak the truth or return his OBE. Roger Stone was elected to Rotherham Council in May 1988. He became Leader of Rotherham Council in 2003 Roger Stone as Leader of Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council was awarded an OBE for services to local government in Rotherham in the 2009 Birthday Honours . Roger Stone resigned as Leader of Rotherham Council on 26 August 2014 after the publication in August 2014 of the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Exploitation in Rotherham 1997 - 2013 by Alexis Jay OBE. Even though he continued on Rotherham Council until 27 November 2014, Roger Stone refused to be interviewed by Louise Casey CB as she prepared her Report of Inspection of Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council (Issued on 4 February 2015). Roger Stone also refused to be interviewed as part of an independent investigation conducted by Gowling LLP into the performance, practice and conduct of senior employees of Rotherham Council from 1997-2013. The report was commissioned to advise Rotherham Council to decide whether there were grounds to take disciplinary action against current employees based on misconduct.
