Dear Summit/Lionsgate,

We, the fans of The Twilight Saga, are reaching out to implore you to stop your copyright infringement enforcement on the small business community. We are not contesting your legal right to do so, we are instead imploring you to recognize the contributions these small businesses have made to keep the love for the saga and the fandom alive and thriving.  We are imploring you to recognize that there is room for your merchandise and theirs.  We are imploring you to see that fans of The Twilight Saga are not swayed from ordering your merchandise because of small business merchandise.  Fans of The Twilight Saga want it all.  We are imploring you to acknowledge this fact because you’ve clearly recognized how popular the merchandise at Hot Topic has been, otherwise, you would not have invested in creating and offering your own.

These small businesses have spent the last decade filling the gap left by your companies when you were uninterested in the fandom on whole.  These small businesses created the items that kept the fandom alive and thriving and attracting new fans.  These small businesses poured their love and creativity into the fandom. 

Now, after these small businesses have nurtured the fandom, you are wanting back in on it, which is your right, but please don’t punish those who kept alive this space for you to step back into.

Please let the small businesses continue what they do for the fandom, and ultimately, for you.  Let the fandom thrive and you will still reap your rewards.
