2400 Dark Sky Supporters!!

You people are absolutely amazing! Thank you so much for sharing and boosting the petition with all your friends and social network! Huge Shout Out to Roland Dechesne from the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada for helping make the big push! Roland created a Facebook ad and paid for some distribution for the cause! I am not asking for donations or money for this cause, but if you want to spend $10.00 on creating a Facebook ad to promote this in your area, I welcome your efforts and donation to the cause! Roland, You rock and are a true Superstar! I can't thank you enough! There is a lot going on behind the scene on attempting to make change on this issue. We have several associated and semi associated groups working hard on putting together documentation and doing meetings with the powers that be to get us heard. We have still not received any feedback from Minister Brian Mason (Alberta Transportation) or Minister Shannon Phillips (Alberta Environment and Parks) after several e-mails directed to them. I will be reissuing the letters by the end of the week to again attempt to get their attention and get a direct reply. I will post the letter and their e-mail addresses on an upcoming update for the petition and welcome you to copy and paste the letter into a direct e-mail to assist with the push. For you Dark Sky watchers, get ready for some cool planetary shows about to take place. Early risers in late February and into early March will be able to watch a planetary alignment dominate the southeastern sky at dawn, as Saturn, Mars, and Jupiter will seem to hover near each other in the sky. Over a few nights starting on March 7, the waning gibbous moon will appear to pay visits to each planet in the lineup. And on March 8, the moon will tuck itself between Mars and Jupiter. Look toward the Antares (or Alpha Scorpii) star (15th brightest) and known for its red colour, to see the planetary alignment. May your night sky be dark and peaceful!
