I am again blown away by the level of support this is getting! You people are amazingly awesome! I know that I have been quiet for the last little bit and spreading out the milestone celebrations but I have not been ignoring things. In fact, I have been busy as a bee doing up videos for the milestones and attempting to get some interviews completed. The first Video up is of Dr. Phil Langill from the University of Calgary Rothney Astrophysical Observatory talking of why the Dark Sky is important to him and the observatory. The video was taken at the Ann and Sandy Cross Conservation Area and if you look over the shoulder of Dr. Langill in the video, you will see deer grazing in the background, just one of the cool things that happens at the Conservation Area that make it so worth going out there every chance I get. I hope that you folks enjoy the video and it takes Dr. Langill from being an observer of the astrophysical realm to being among the stellar superstars of his field. Don't forget to check out the University of Calgary Rothney Astrophysical Observatory website at https://www.ucalgary.ca/rao/ Keep in mind that there are a bunch of very cool astronomical events taking place over the holiday season that are well worth checking out in the Dark Sky. On the subject of the holiday season, the political folks are about to take a winter break, but I am very happy to know that when they return they will be receiving a gift from the people of a ton of e-mails asking them to change their ways when it comes to lighting and protecting the Dark Sky! Upon their return after the New Year, I am going to amp up the petition and add Rachel Notley to the campaign receivers and start contacting their office to see if we can get more action and a reply on the subject seeing as I have had no feedback from either Shannon Phillips or Brian Mason after several calls to the offices and direct e-mails. I am very open to other suggestions on moving forward and would love to hear what you think would assist in making the change happen. You can join the conversation on the Facebook group (Protecting The Dark Sky Around Calgary) at https://www.facebook.com/groups/146403756085814/ Thank you folks again for all your amazing support and for sharing and talking about the issue and petition! This simply would not make a difference without you.
