I presented the petition, along with all of your comments at last night's Committee of the Whole meeting. The Council responded well, promising to discuss the issue with Chief Neff this coming Monday. The Mayor, again, was very supportive. I'd like to thank Cara Flati for showing up last night and signing the petition. Her simple plea for the horn to stop brought home to everyone that this issue is probably most important to those citizens who live near the firehouse. I am still very hopeful that the horn will be shut off soon, but, if not, I think it is clear that the Chief and Council must be able to articulate a need for the fire horn which outweighs the needs of Sewickley citizens as expressed in this petition. That is no small hurdle. I should know more after next week's meeting. Please continue to gather signatures from Sewickley residents and business people.
