NC State Representative Mark Ples will be meeting us Monday evening, Sept 23, 7PM at Haywood Community College Auditorium in Clyde.

This will be our first opportunity to meet with Rep Ples- and your attendance and words to follow this petition are just as important as when you first signed this petition. Haywood and Buncombe County Commissioners, outside of Commissioner Terry Ramey, have done very little to address the sewage, traffic, safety and trespassing that comes from this decade old problem.

We were just told that the houses in the Mt Soma community have had lock their doors even while home to keep the visitors from walking inside to use bathrooms and more. If we don't continue to pressure as a community, like we did decades ago against using the mountain for nuclear waste dump site , we will continue to be compromised by this issue. In that scenario it will take someone getting hurt or worse, and this is entirely avoidable by holding commissioners and the temple accountable for polluting our water supply and properties.

Please make this a priority this coming Monday evening. Complacency by commissioners will take away our communities' safety and more.
