Your Excellency,

We, the people of Guyana, are writing this petition to express our disgust at the recent devastating developments in Palestine, especially the Gaza Strip. Over 30,000 lives have been lost, the majority of whom are women and children. The intentional indiscriminate bombings by the Israeli regime, paired with racist and discriminative genocidal remarks by the cabinet ministers of the Government of Israel, is resulting in a painful ethnic cleansing of Gaza, one that no human can bear.

We had previously expressed our disgust regarding this matter in an open letter addressed to your excellency. It is now urgent to conclude a diplomatic and decisive action against the Israeli regime such that, in its capacity, it may have an impact in stopping the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.

Until a complete ceasefire and a mutually consented agreement with the Palestinian people has concluded, we, the undersigned, respectfully request the following actions to be taken:

1. Sever all diplomatic ties with the Israeli regime.
2. Suspend all economic activities with Israeli companies, especially those that have a strong influence or are directly related to the Israeli Government.

Other Caribbean and South American Countries like Belize, Chile, Bolivia, and recently Brazil have taken a similar stance, resulting in a diplomatic protest against the Israeli aggression. Guyana deserves to take pride in being on the right side of the history.
