Integrated Health and Care Systems a policy of the Victorian Greens Party

We  have met with the Victorian Greens Party to talk about their policies regarding child sexual abuse, including how integrated trauma informed health and other services are key to early identification of child sexual abuse and trauma. And provision of all appropriate health and social services, which was recommendation 9.1 of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, which the Victorian government has failed to implement in any way, shape or form.

We were delighted to hear that integrated health and care services are a key policy of the Victorian Greens, which will not only benefit victim/services of child sexual abuse and their families, but all Victorians.

One of the promoters of this petition - Karen Walker - has also shared her professional experience of supporting the implementation of limited scope integrated health and care services for two initiatives of the Victorian Dpepartment of Health. And her professional knowledge of integrated health and social services in NSW, New Zealand and the UK, and how to implement them. The NSW government being the Australian government which has done the most in response to recommendation 9.1 of the Royal Commission, regarding integrated health and care systems.

Integrated health and social services enables the early diagnosis of trauma, and other health and social impacts, as a result of experiencing child sexual abuse. Which then enables the provision of the appropriate health and other supports, for victim/survivors and their family.

We will keep yoou updated, but it is tremendously exciting to know that a  significant political party in Victoria and Australia has a key health policy that would benefit victim/survivors of child sexual abuse and their families. And the health and wellbeing of  all Victorians. 

And also increases the likelihood of  achieving the outcomes our petition seeks!!
