Save the SEPTA Regional Rail Cynwyd Line!

The Issue

Since April 9, 2020 the SEPTA Regional Rail Cynwyd Line line has been suspended due to a staff shortage. It is in SOME SERIOUS TROUBLE of being discontinued, and this has been the case for a long time. Just because it is the least trafficked in the SEPTA Regional Rail system doesn't mean it is insignificant. Those who ride it depend on it to avoid the traffic congestion on I-76 (The Schuylkill Expressway).

SEPTA needs to resume service on the Cynwyd Line; they should start running 2-car trains on the line. This will greatly reduce overcrowding, and may even increase ridership on the Cynwyd Line, since it is currently the least trafficked in the system. Soon that could change with this petition. Prior to the line being suspended, SEPTA only used ONE (1) Multiple Unit railcar per train, and the line only ran Monday-Friday during peak hour. This is NOT ACCEPTABLE.

In fact, SEPTA is constantly trying to resolve overcrowding issues on the line, and yet they don't even have the foresight to run service more frequently or to use 2-car or even 3-car trains. What a mess! And TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! NJ Transit's Princeton Branch runs 2-car trains, so I think SEPTA Regional Rail should be able to do it as well! It does happen, on rare occasions, a 2-car train will run on the Cynwyd Line, but basically what I am saying is that it must happen on a REGULAR BASIS to reduce overcrowding!!!! Please sign my petition today and this issue will finally be resolved.

If we all work together, we can reduce traffic congestion on the Schuylkill Expressway by restoring and improving the Cynwyd Line!
