Today is 11/11: Remembrance Day.

• ULEZ to UKRAINE now has over 600 vehicles, despite the end of scrappage applications in September. British Ukrainian Aid are the sole administrators of the scheme and still welcome help. https://british-ukrainianaid.org/

• The publicity around ULEZ to Ukraine has led to many other vehicle donations, often from switched-on people who are based just outside the ULEZ boundary. No one has written about this 'secondary effect' but it has supplied a steady stream of vehicles throughout 2024. Terrific. Many of the owners donated to the Ukrainian NGO I have worked with since 2022, https://car4ukraine.com/ The picture above was a tidy Nissan we were given, loaded up with Medical Aid just before it left the UK. Because there was also American donor $ involved and the dark nights are back, it suits Remembrance Day to use this image. More to the point, Car for Ukraine has just reached 500 vehicles delivered - and the vast majority of those pick-up trucks. So congratulations to Ivan Oleksii, Nazar Kravchuk and all their colleagues and supporters across the world. He's got the chocolate but still needs head torches with red light function; Thermos flasks ideally 500ml, shower gel and puzzles or games like a pack of cards. Deliver to 211 Balham High Road, White Eagle Club, London, SW17 7BQ on Wednesday Nov 13 between 12 and 8, or on Saturday 10-2. On Sunday they will go to Ukraine in an ambulance.
