I am so grateful for your support and words of encouragement. This new aged care policy is shortsighted and has adversely affected so many vulnerable people. Even trying to safeguard your family from such a scenario through private health insurance cover (we have Top Hospital) is of no benefit in situations such as this. Even if a patient is considered to have a terminal condition there is a deadline as to how long they are permitted to remain in hospital once their condition is deemed to be 'medically stable', So after paying private health insurance premiums for over 20 years, we are still not covered in situations such as these.
