DEMOCRATS DESERVE A CHOICE. HOLD A COMPETITIVE ELECTION FOR SENATE MAJORITY LEADER!

In January 2027, members of the newly elected U.S. Senate will choose who serves as Senate Democratic Leader, one of the most influential leadership positions in Congress.

Chuck Schumer currently serves as Senate Democratic Leader and has held the position since 2017. If his name is put forward again, Senate Democrats will have a choice to make. Chuck Schumer is simply not the right choice.

We believe Democratic leadership should represent Democratic voters, not just the Democratic establishment.

The Senate Democratic Leader has enormous influence over the direction of the party, including legislative priorities, political strategy, negotiations, and the party’s response to the issues facing everyday Americans. Before casting their votes, senators should closely examine Schumer’s public record, policy positions, campaign donor relationships, and leadership decisions—and listen to constituents who do not want him continuing in this position.

This is not a foregone conclusion. There is still time for other Democratic senators to step forward and seek the leadership position—someone whose priorities more closely reflect the voters who support and elect Democratic candidates.

We are calling on every Democratic member of the incoming 120th Congress to vote against Chuck Schumer for Senate Democratic Leader in January 2027 and choose a different candidate.
