We, the global Persona community, are writing to express our deep disappointment regarding the decision to launch the global version of Persona 5: The Phantom X (P5X) with only Japanese voice acting.

For nearly two decades, the Persona franchise has set the gold standard for English localization. The iconic English voice casts of Persona 5 Royal and Persona 3 Reload did not just translate text—they gave these stories their heart, building an emotional connection that turned casual players into lifelong, loyal fans.

By omitting an English voice track from a live-service game built entirely around character attachment and gacha monetization, you are prioritizing aggressive cost-cutting over your community. This decision directly hurts:

• ACCESSIBILITY: Players with visual impairments or reading disabilities are completely locked out of enjoying the story in real-time.

• IMMERSION: Western fans who fell in love with the Phantom Thieves universe expect to hear the characters they know and love.

• PLAYER GOODWILL: Expecting players to financially support a premium live-service title while stripping away the premium localization features we have come to expect feels like corporate greed.

We understand that a live-service game requires ongoing voice-acting contracts. However, as a community, we are telling you directly: We really wanted to invest in this game, but we need to hear our language represented.

THE ENGLISH DUB IS THE ACCESIBILITY, NOT A LUXURY!!! Do not treat your Western player base as an afterthought. Give Persona 5: The Phantom X the full English localization and voice cast it rightfully deserves.

Steal back our hearts—bring back the English dub so we can hear the Phantom Thieves in English again!
