Dear fellow Sherkston Shores Homeowners: 

As most of you already know, there was a  stabbing/assault that happened in the park this past Victoria Day weekend.

As a result, an owner received stab wounds (one to his liver), was sprayed with mace and was beaten. He was airlifted to the hospital and thank God he will be ok. He was trying to protect some  under aged girls who were being harassed. According to his story, security stayed in their cars honking their horns while he was beaten as they are not equipped to deal with this level of violence. 

There are hundreds of people entering Sherkston Shores through hopping fences, front gate, pleasant beach etc  and it is understandable that the Security team does not have to tools to deal with this type of assault with a weapon, mace or large crowds of teens  who could easily over take them. (And obviously very intimidating)

We do not want to wait until someone is killed for change to occur. 

WE are asking that the following be done to not only protect the owners/visitors;  but to protect the reputation of our park that we all love: 

1. High definition cameras to be installed at the Basketball Courts, main Fun Plex and front access gates with Signage for everyone to know that “YOU ARE ON CANERA”

#2. Paid Niagara Regional Police for every long weekend AND every weekend throughout the summer. And at least patrol cars at the basketball courts, main funplex and patrolling.

3. Extra lighting at the basketball courts so that it is well lit. 

4: Every single guest/ owner must wear their bands/have their pass. AND ENFORCE IT. No band or pass…. No Sherkston entry. 

AS OWNERS WE ALL NEED TO SIGN THIS  FOR CHANGE TO HAPPEN!!!
