Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to sign the petition.

Wiltshire Council is currently refusing to reconsider its decision not to increase funding, which would allow these vulnerable individuals to remain in their long-term homes. It’s absolutely appalling how our families are being treated. We feel completely ignored by the council, with communication across all departments involved being limited, cold, and scripted. There seems to be no compassion, no regard for the emotional impact this has on my son and the other residents.

My son still has no idea what’s coming, and I am heartbroken at the thought. December is such a special time of year for him. Every year, without fail, he finds joy in putting up his Christmas tree at the start of the month, decorating, and listening to holiday music. His home fills with love and happiness. But this year, instead of celebrating, we’ll be forced to tell him that his life is about to be turned upside down. It’s going to break him.

We’re asking Wiltshire Council to at least extend his funding and allow him to stay in his home a few more months. This would prevent the need to rush through this devastating transition and would give us time to find the right place for him with properly trained staff. A gradual move could make all the difference between a successful transition and a disastrous one.

Please continue to share this petition. Even if you’ve shared it before, please share it again. And if you haven’t yet confirmed your signature in your email, please do so to ensure it counts.

Wiltshire Council, we’re asking you to have compassion for these wonderful people. Protect them as you know you should.
