Thank-you to all who have signed this petition & joined in our battle for equal field access for the Peterborough Women's Soccer Club. The representatives from the city recreation department made it quite clear at our meeting that we would not be getting access to Milroy this year. After much scouting & field deliberations, we have decided that playing on turf is our best (only realistic) option to actually have a season this year. We realize this is disappointing & not ideal; we will miss the families on the side lines & kids cheering us on, as this is part of what makes our community special.

We are not giving up this fight; we think it is imperative to secure access to decent, adult sized soccer fields,  not just for our members but also for the greater Peterborough community. Soccer is not going anywhere & is an important part of our community, but we need to advocate for field access & maintainence of the fields we do have.

With less than 6 weeks to the start of the season, there is not enough time to win this fight in time to play at Milroy this season. We will regroup, we will gather data, we will continue to generate awareness & gather support to bring our concerns back to the city council & city recreation department.
