A Birthday Milestone, A Growing Movement, and a Call for Preparedness!

Last week, our petition was still below 20,000 signatures. Then, on the morning of my 50th birthday, I woke up to see we'd reached that magical milestone. I don't often believe in signs, but seeing 20,000 signatures on that particular day felt incredibly special.
Today, we're already at 20,463 signatures, meaning we're just 37 signatures away from 20,500.
To every person who has signed, shared, commented, encouraged, and stood beside our diabetes community, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Every signature represents someone who understands that insulin is not a luxury. It is life itself.
If you've already signed but haven't yet shared the petition, could you please consider doing so? One share can help reach people who may never have heard about this issue. The incredible growth we've seen over the past week shows just how many Australians care about protecting access to life-saving medicines.
Recently, there has been a lot of discussion about emergency preparedness and the importance of households having enough essential supplies, including food, water, medications, and other necessities, to manage through unexpected disruptions. For people living with diabetes, these conversations highlight an important question.
Preparedness starts with transparency.
Peace of mind comes from knowing that if supply chains are disrupted for any reason, Australians who depend on insulin have the reassurance that essential reserves are available when needed. Parents of children with diabetes, and adults who rely on insulin every day, deserve confidence that one of the nation's most critical medicines is being properly safeguarded.
Our petition isn't about creating fear. It's about creating confidence, preparedness, and trust through transparency. Knowing what insulin supplies are held within the National Medical Stockpile would help reassure the millions of Australians whose lives depend on this medication and strengthen public confidence in Australia's ability to respond to future challenges.
Let's keep this momentum going. Let's reach 20,500 signatures and continue making our voices heard.
Please sign, share, and help us secure Australia's insulin future. 💙
