Almost 20,000 — Thank you! And it’s my 50th birthday 💙

It’s just gone midnight and I’m blown away.
Yesterday at 6:18am we were at 19,621 verified signatures. Now, the next morning at 12:19am (yes, I can’t sleep I’m a tad excited and both overwhelmed at being in my 50’s now 😅) we’re at 19,975 supporters.
That’s over 300 new signatures and over $700 in community contributions in less than 24 hours — after just sharing in some Facebook groups and having a wonderful woman called Deb Bayley who is also a mother to a son with type 1 and a strong advocate for our diabetes community, who shared my post far and wide. I appreciate that support very much as doing it on my own can be tough but it’s more than worth it!
And yes — I just turned 50 on the 29th today!
Thank you. Every signature, every share, every $2 or $10 to help the campaign be seen has mattered. We now have 717 promotions, 686 promoters, 89,760 petition views, and $9,797.91 in contributions from the community to keep this visible.
We started this in June 2025 with one simple question: Is insulin in Australia’s National Medical Stockpile?
Think of the Stockpile as the country’s emergency backup cupboard — it holds vaccines, antidotes and PPE for when supply chains break. Insulin isn’t publicly listed. We import almost all insulin in Australia, so everyday things like shipping delays, factory shutdowns, extreme weather, or trade issues overseas can delay supply. There’s no published plan for families.
Close to 20,000 of you have now asked Parliament for:
✅ A yes/no on whether insulin is included
📋 A clear, published contingency plan
🌏 Long-term supply agreements so Australia stays a priority
We’re not asking for secret details. We’re not asking families to stockpile at home. We’re asking the system to have a plan, so families have peace of mind.
What you can do in less than 2 minutes — and it’s free:
1. Help us hit 20,000 tonight (free, 30 seconds):
Share this link: c.org/jfLQJjBSVK — You don’t need to donate. If the site asks after you sign, you can just skip. Sharing helps more than anything.
2. Help us get an answer from the Decision Maker (1 minute):
On this page you’ll see our Decision Maker — Professor Tony Lawler, Deputy Secretary of the Health Products Regulation Group. Click “Email decision maker” and send a short note. I’ve put a template below if you want to copy/paste.
3. Help us get local support:
If you’re in Australia, copy my one-page letter template (in the comments) and email it to your local MP. If you’re overseas, your signature still counts — global supply affects everyone.
Life has been a lot, so I’ve been quiet. I’m back now, doing what I can. Thank you for carrying this with me.
With gratitude,
— Mum to Liam, 9, type 1 diabetes since 3

- TEMPLATE FOR DECISION MAKER - Subject: 19,973 of us - including a 9-year-old who checks his insulin every night
Dear Professor Lawler, I am one of 19,973 people supporting Secure Australia's Insulin Future. This campaign started June 2025, has been tabled in Parliament, 89,760 views, $9,797 raised by the community to be seen.
Behind the number is a boy like Liam, 9. Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 3 — autoimmune, his body doesn't make insulin. He checks his pump before bed and asks his mum, will there be enough tomorrow? He depends on imported insulin every day.
We are not asking for secret stock numbers. Just three clear answers families can hold onto:
Is insulin in our National Medical Stockpile? Is there a published plan if shipping, factories, weather or trade disrupt supply? Are long-term agreements being looked at?
Peace of mind, not panic. Thank you for your work.

2. TEMPLATE FOR LOCAL MP - Subject: Constituent - 19,973 asking, including families who count insulin nightly
Dear [MP Name],
I am your constituent in [Suburb/Postcode].
Tonight 19,973 Australians have signed asking if insulin is in our National Medical Stockpile. Among them is Liam, 9, diagnosed type 1 at 3. His mum started this in June 2025. He checks his insulin before sleep.
We import almost all insulin. The Stockpile holds vaccines, antidotes, PPE — but insulin isn't publicly listed. No published plan if supply is delayed.
Could you ask Minister Butler for: confirmation if insulin is included, a published contingency plan, and long-term supply agreements?
Petition tabled in Parliament: c.org/jfLQJjBSVK Thank you.
