Secure a home for Wellingborough ABC from NNC

Secure a home for Wellingborough ABC from NNC
The Issue
As a coach of Wellingborough Amateur Boxing Club (ABC), I find the potential eviction of our establishment deeply concerning. We have offered our time and effort as volunteers, all united in our goal to better the community through sport and positive engagement. Our club operates as a Community Interest Company, thus, our fundamental aim is to serve the people of Wellingborough rather than our personal interests.
Currently, development plans from our landlord threaten to evict us. our ability to conduct community programs could be severely hampered. However, there's a solution to our predicament: North Northamptonshire Council has a vacant, council-owned building that could serve as our new home.
We are requesting that regulation be exercised to maintain the influence of local sports clubs in community development. According to Sport England data, such local sports hubs form an integral part of communities all over the country, with millions of children and adults benefitting from their offerings each year.
We implore North Northamptonshire Council's assistance in providing Wellingborough ABC with peppercorn rent for the vacant council-owned building. Not only would this save our club and its contributions to the community from disintegration, but it would also serve as a model for how councils can support voluntary, community-based sports clubs in the face of development pressures.
We believe in the power of sports and community solidarity, and we hope you do too. Please, sign our petition to support local sports and community spirit.
