For over three years, the residents of Thabazimbi have been living in a state of constant water scarcity.

Our taps run dry and when they do produce water, it is nothing short of a miracle.

This lack of basic amenities has led to unsanitary conditions in our homes and public areas, including schools where blocked toilets and drains are a common sight.

In Extension 5, overflowing drains spill onto the streets every day.

This is not just about convenience; it is about dignity and health. 

The absence of outside toilets combined with the water scarcity has resulted in unbearable smells permeating our homes and public spaces.

We cannot maintain hygiene or live healthy lives without access to clean water.

We are not asking for luxuries; we are demanding necessities that are our rights as citizens. 

That is why we have, through this petition, initiated legal proceedings against Thabazimbi Local Municipality for their failure to provide us with consistent access to clean water.
