I was contacted by Ryan Bonnar from Samford Tumarkin LLP in Toronto. A firm that has been working with many Sears employees. See his message below and check out their blog. Perhaps if we get many signatures we can change some legislations along side them too!

Our firm was working with a number of Sears Canada employees months before the retailer sought bankruptcy protection. We continue to receive calls and emails on a daily basis for former or current employees, wondering about their rights. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do.
We have suggested two changes to legislation that the federal government can enact to protect employees in a bankruptcy situation.
We have also contacted every MP in Canada via email with these two recommendations. A handful of MP's assistants have responded, indicating that our message "has been brought to Mr./Ms. X's attention."
