SeaWorld Orlando has made some big announcements! One being, they are ending orca breeding programs! FINALLY! What a good thing! They have also said "There will be new inspiring natural orca encounters, and new partnerships to protect oceans and marine animals". This is instead of the Orca shows... not sure how I feel about that one though... Encounters with the Orcas? Who are already lunging and putting trainers at threat? This could go horribly wrong... And this will only happen in 2019! That's three years away! I cant begin to imagine what could happen in three years. Will Tilikum even live that long? They said "We always put the health and well-being of the whales first" Do they Really? I then read that all Orcas that are in captivity now, will be living their lives out in tanks at SeaWorld. WOW SeaWorld, WOW. That really doesn't help the Orcas in captivity does it? Okay yes, no more breeding that's good. But how about you do something about the poor Orcas already in captivity? I really don't think "Orca Encounters" is going to help the poor depressed animals. What happened to the ocean pen that was going to be built you ask? SeaWorld shut down this decision, saying the whales were too weak from captivity to be successfully rehomed. "We believe that would likely be a death sentence for our whales." SeaWorld says. Well. Who's fault is that if it is true? Who knows if it is. Something needs to be done. They should NOT live the rest of their lives in small tanks. Thank you all so much for supporting my Petition!
