Sea otter is being mistreated at the vancouver aquarium and needs to come home.

The Issue

A baby sea otter was heard calling out for its mother so my uncle called my grandmother to come and help. They looked everywhere for her mother but she was nowhere to be found, and the sea otter was near to death.

My uncle went out and got her some fresh urchins, he made it into a baby squeeze bottle. She ate it all up and loved it, so they started calling her t'učup (pronounced tuutsup) which is Nuučaan̓uɫ for sea urchin.

My auntie called the DFO in hopes that they would want to help and give advice to the family in trying to help t'učup, but all they said, in short was that they would come and pick her up.

The DFO took her and brought her to the vancouver aquarium where they gave her plastic toys, cat and dog food, as well as a new name, they named her Baby Tofino after the place she was rescued. Even though they know we named her

The aquarium wants to keep her as they have said on the news. We are not in support of that and she needs to be free, this is a nudge to the vancouver aquarium to free little t'učup and hopefully other animals in the future because wildlife is not to be kept in cages.

I hope you have a wonderful day, please tell everyone you can about little t'učup❤️
