Scratch.mit.edu is a free coding website where people can make games, talk, and most importantly for this, make art. I've been on Scratch for a little more than 4 years, and I have to say that it was and mostly still is an amazing place. However, the Scratch Team has talked about using AI, and furthermore, has even talked about using art from scratchers to train those AI models. Using somebody elses art without their permission is HIGHLY unethical, and can even cause people's drawings to be called AI, when in reality the AI learned from them. 

This is a SERIOUS problem not just on scratch, but all around the world. AI is stealing people's art and not giving them credit, invalidating the time and work these artists put into their pieces of art. This is also happening with writing and music, so much so that Spotify might add a separate Top 100 Chart specifically for AI "Bands" and "Music Artists".

By signing this petition, you can help the Scratch Team see the error of their ways and stop another beloved place from falling victim to AI.
