Scratch needs to put a end to this nonsense. #justice4charlie
The Issue
We, the undersigned, are calling on Scratch to immediately review and revise its content moderation policies to ensure that respectful expressions of faith, tributes to individuals, and freedom of speech are protected for all users.
Recently, I was banned from Scratch for creating projects demanding changes to address unreasonable bans, especially in relation to Charlie Kirk, a public figure who had a significant impact on me. I used the hashtag #Justice4Charlie to express my frustration when Scratch removed comments that mentioned Charlie’s full name. Despite these projects being respectful, they were removed, and my account was banned for being deemed “not age-appropriate” simply for showing evidence and demanding change.
This form of censorship goes against the core values of free speech that Scratch claims to uphold. Scratch is an educational platform, and it should foster creativity, learning, and open expression, not stifle them. By removing respectful tributes and censoring users for expressing their faith or honoring someone who has passed away, Scratch is violating the principles of free expression and fairness — principles that are enshrined in the First Amendment.
In contrast, inappropriate content like furry 'memes' in which include inappropriate content for not only a younger audience but for the system of education, LGBTQ+ content, and anti-conservative/anti-Trump projects are often posted without consequence, creating a double standard where only certain views are silenced while others are freely expressed. This results in an environment where children are exposed to content that doesn’t align with the values of many parents, while truthful and respectful expressions are punished.
We demand that Scratch immediately revise its content moderation policies to ensure that:
Respectful tributes, expressions of faith, and freedom of speech are protected.
Content that violates First Amendment rights is no longer allowed to censor users unjustly.
A fair and transparent moderation process is put in place that does not unfairly target any group or individual for their beliefs.
This is not just a fight for me — it’s a fight for all users who want to honor people, express their faith, and engage in meaningful dialogue without the fear of being silenced.
Sign this petition to demand that Scratch take responsibility for ensuring fair and respectful treatment of all its users. Let’s restore the values of free expression and fairness on the platform. They not only have terminated my account but also an peaceful movement in the name of, 'Patriots United', nothing seemed abnormal or violent about the movement, with over 40 members, the movement was disbanded after the termination. So you are telling me, we have all of these other studios promoting hate and disrespect to others, yet Scratch cannot seem to simply tolerate a peaceful movement exposing the truth?
