Now that autumn is in full swing we are really ramping up our field work efforts as now is a good time to find wildcats. Our efforts are already paying off. We recently showed you a video of a young wildcat in the Clashindarroch. However we are equally excited to show you this tantalising glimpse of a wildcat in a brand new area. Although not in full focus you can clearly see the body stripes and the tail looks magnificent, so this is really promising. We have placed more camera traps in the area and hope to capture some video so we can fully assess this cat. We will show you all the video as soon as we get any footage. We are desperately hoping that this find may lead to the discovery of a new wildcat population. It is so important that every single remaining wildcat is found and protected in the wild.
