I can only apologise to those who, when they view the petition, see an image of stressed cattle in an abattoir that looks not to be compliant with UK legislation. It appears that this petition has been taken, without asking me first, into change.org's Smart Images Program (https://help.change.org/s/article/smart-images?language=en_US
If you can follow this url above you'll see that the "If you would like to turn off optimization for your petition, please contact our support team here." links don't go anywhere useful. Indeed it appears that there is no way to actually contact them.
They are also using an image of the old abattoir in Orkney, which isn't helpful but is at least not distressing to see, nor destructive of the whole campaign. I can only assume the images are chosen automatically & change.org have assumed that any words such as 'abattoir' must be associated with anti-meat or vegan campaigns & chosen an image that is designed to put people off eating meat.
All attempts to contact change.org via their social media have failed. It turns out that they don't actually have any way of contacting them by email. The report violations page, when I'd completed the form and pressed send, took me to a broken link.
