Hello defenders of the Aussie Ugg. Nearly 4000 of you emailed the Attorney-General, and it helped: she is well aware that she only has days to intervene and bring the Ugg home.
But the Attorney-General remains unmoved, refusing to file the amicus brief I need for my US Supreme Court fight. That's why I'm asking you to tap here to please pick up the phone and call Senator Cash's office today.
As my lawyers explain it to me, the last date for the Attorney-General to agree to file an amicus brief, and to get the brief prepared, is November 1st. That's just five days away.
We're already facing a massive battle taking on this corporate giant in the US Supreme Court. I had hoped the Australian Government would side with Aussie small businesses to defend a national icon like the Ugg boot. But it seems we need to fight just as hard to get Senator Cash on our side.
Please, click here to make a quick, polite phone call to the office of the Attorney-General or dial (02) 6277 7300. A script has been prepared for you, to make it as easy as possible:
"Hi, my name is [[YOUR NAME]] and I'm one of 75,000 Australians who have signed Eddie's petition to defend the Aussie Ugg boot. I understand the Attorney-General has the opportunity to support Eddie's US court battle by filing a brief. I'm urging Senator Cash to take that step before it's too late, to stand up for Aussie small businesses, Aussie jobs, and for the iconic Aussie Ugg boot. Thank you."
Remember: remain polite and respectful at all times on the call. Senator Cash's staff are hardworking, busy people who are just doing here jobs.
Thank you for your support thus far, and thank you for all you will continue to do to bring the Ugg home.
All my thanks and gratitude,
Eddie Oygur
